Tech Steward submissions

We collect the submitter’s name, email address, optional phone number, locality, service area, skills, services offered, availability, and publication choices. Email and phone remain private unless the submitter explicitly chooses to display them.

Approximate location

Cloudflare may provide an approximate visitor city or regional location so the directory can order listings by distance. Steward coordinates represent a town or service-area center, never a residential address. A typed location is resolved from Maxsys’s own location records rather than sent to a public geocoder.

Review and introductions

Pending submissions remain private to authorized Maxsys reviewers. When public contact details are not displayed, an organization may ask Maxsys to coordinate an introduction.

Email

We use email to confirm submissions, deliver private management links, notify Maxsys reviewers, and request annual renewal. We do not publish a steward’s email unless they opt in.

Donations

Stripe processes online donations. Maxsys receives transaction details needed to confirm and acknowledge a gift but does not store complete payment-card details.

Security and anti-abuse

Google reCAPTCHA helps protect public forms from automated abuse. Cloudflare provides hosting and security services. Operational logs may contain limited technical information such as timestamps and network identifiers.

Control and removal

Stewards can edit, pause, renew, or permanently delete their listing through a private emailed link. A replacement link can be requested without publicly revealing whether an email is registered.
